We produce documentaries that strengthen
how destinations are presented to the world.

All destinations deserve thoughtful storytelling.

Why Perspectiva Exists

Travelling has the power to connect people, yet, destinations are often
reduced to images without context.

Perspetiva was created to tell stories rooted in local life, revealing the people,
traditions and cultural knowledge that shape a place.

Our aim is to encourage a deeper way of experiencing the world.
One where visitors and local communities engage through curiosity, respect and genuine exchange.

‘‘Some places are visited, others are understood’’

Our Philosophy

Every destination carries history,
context, and lived complexity.

Storytelling shapes perception.

and perception shapes
how places are understood.

The People
Behind Perspectiva

Daniela Botero

Director & Editor

I have always been fascinated by how differently people live across the world — their traditions, music, languages, social structures, and the everyday rituals that shape a place.

Travelling exposed me to that diversity early on. My studies and work in tourism marketing later revealed something equally important: the way destinations are presented can shape how they are understood — and sometimes how they change.
That awareness stayed with me.

When working on a documentary, I spend significant time researching the destination and identifying the people whose stories reflect its cultural fabric. These voices become the foundation of each film.

Perspectiva is built on a simple principle: representation shapes perception.

Through our work, I focus on connecting cultural storytelling with the realities of the tourism world, documenting the people, traditions, and local voices that give destinations their identity.

Host & Producer

Dimitrios Athanasopoulos (Dimi)

Filmmaking has always been the way I make sense of the world.

I studied directing at Colorado Film School and later specialised in editing, where I discovered how deeply the meaning of a story is shaped in the way it is told. In the editing room, I realised that perspective is not only about what we film, but how we guide the viewer through it. That process became something I care deeply about — the responsibility and the power of shaping how a story is experienced.

Through Perspectiva, I focus on telling stories through the people who live in the places we film. Their traditions, their knowledge, and the small details of daily life reveal the true character of a destination.

For me, filmmaking is about creating space for those voices. When a story is told with care, it allows audiences to see a place beyond the surface.

Our Approach

Research

–––––––––––––––––––

Before filming begins, we spend time studying the destination in depth. Its history, cultural context, and the rhythms of everyday life. This process allows us to move past surface narratives and identify the people whose stories truly represent a place. By the time we arrive with a camera, we already understand what matters and which voices should lead the story.

''Every documentary begins
long before the camera appears.''

Field

–––––––––––

When we arrive on location, the work becomes human. Our films grow out of conversations with the people who know the place best: artists, craftsmen, historians, musicians, and local storytellers.

These exchanges often shape the direction of the film itself. Listening closely allows us to capture the small details that define a place — the gestures, traditions, and everyday moments that rarely appear in typical travel media.

Perspective

––––––––––––––––––––––––

Filming is where research and human connection come together. Every scene is shaped carefully through framing, pacing, and editing.

Our aim is to create films that feel immersive without losing the context that gives a place its meaning. Rather than simplifying a destination, we try to show its complexity through the people who live there and the traditions that continue to shape their everyday lives.
